For over twenty years I’ve provided agencies, law firms and other business clients, and individuals with accurate and natural translations, revisions and editing. My primary specialisation is insurance and law but whatever the subject matter my aim is to work closely with my clients to achieve the optimum result for them. As a Chartered Linguist of the Chartered Institute of Linguists I am obliged to adhere to the CiOL Code of Conduct, and required to keep my skills updated and record my continuing professional development. I am also a long-standing member of the Proz online translation community and endorse the Proz professional guidelines for translators.
My knowledge of Russian springs from a passion for the language
I am lucky to have had two periods of residence in Russia, and to have travelled in the Central Asian republics. These ventures have given me valuable insights into the cultures of the many peoples who use Russian for international communication, and I carry this understanding through into my translation work.
My other passion in life is music
I am actively involved in music-making locally, and it has been my pleasure to meet and work with Russian musicians from the classical, jazz, folk and rock circuits. I particularly relish the challenge of translating song lyrics, which makes a refreshing change from the strictures of legal translation.
Samantha has an excellent command of the nuances of Russian language, and we found her to be very professional and responsive.
